About SplitDay
Who builds SplitDay, how the app is made, and the standards behind everything we publish.
SplitDay is a co-parenting custody calendar app published by Funtika LTD for iOS 15.6+ and Android 7+, localised in 65 languages, with a free ad-supported tier and a Pro plan at $8.99 per month, $44.99 per year or $99.99 once. It holds the parenting schedule, the handovers, the shared costs and the messages for separated and divorced parents in one place, so families spend less energy arguing about logistics and more of it on the children.

What SplitDay does
- Custody calendar. Alternating weeks, alternating weekends, split-week and fully custom patterns, with per-day overrides and a running custody scoreboard.
- Exchange logging. Swaps, borrowed days, returns and gifted days, each timestamped and annotated, so the record of what happened is written down as it happens.
- Expenses with AI receipt scanning. Photograph a receipt and the amount, vendor and date are read out of it for you, then split between parents.
- Co-parent messaging with an AI tone indicator. Before you send, SplitDay labels your draft friendly, neutral, harsh or hostile and offers a calmer rewrite. Messaging runs on a shared household, which is part of Pro.
- Exports. A CSV of your full custody history and a PDF chat transcript on the free plan; printable kid-friendly calendar PDFs and expense-report PDFs on Pro.

Who makes SplitDay
SplitDay is built and published by Funtika LTD — the developer name shown on the app's App Store and Google Play listings, where the Android package is com.funtika.splitday. We are a small product team. We are not a law firm, a mediation service or a court filing service, and we do not act for either parent.
What we are trying to do is narrow and practical: make co-parenting calmer by giving it structure. A lot of co-parenting conflict starts somewhere concrete — who has the children on Thursday, who paid for the school shoes, what was actually agreed in March. When those facts are written down in one neutral place that both parents can see, there is simply less to argue about. That is the thesis of the product, and it is the test we apply to every feature we consider.
How we build the product
Your data lives on your device first
Everything you enter is written to an encrypted local database on your own phone, and the app works fully offline. Nothing has to leave the device for the calendar, the scoreboard and the exchange log to work.
Cloud sync is optional, and sharing is built on it
Pro subscribers can back up and sync across devices. That data is held in Google Firebase and is encrypted in transit and at rest. Cloud sync is also what makes household sharing and co-parent messaging possible — which means nothing is shared with your co-parent unless you deliberately invite them. The Privacy Policy sets out, service by service, what is stored where and which third parties are involved.
The free plan is real, and it is ad-supported
The free tier is not a teaser: it includes the full custody calendar and every custody pattern, the scoreboard, exchange logging, unlimited helpers and caregivers, all twelve country holiday presets, monthly AI receipt scans and tone checks, and CSV export of your whole history. It shows banner ads. Pro removes the ads and adds household sharing, messaging, cloud backup and the PDF exports; the pricing page lists exactly what sits on each side of that line.

Who writes the guides
The schedule guides, glossary entries and how-to articles on this site are written and maintained by the SplitDay team — the same people who build the app. They are grounded in the schedule patterns SplitDay actually implements, so an article describing a 2-2-3 rotation is describing something you can set up in the app in a minute rather than an abstraction. Where we publish numbers about how families divide time, they come from the anonymised aggregate patterns in the SplitDay custody study (804 new custody setups, 2026), and we say so on the page. We do not run guest posts and we do not sell placements or links.
How product facts are verified
Every claim on this site about what SplitDay does — feature by feature, plan by plan, quota by quota — is checked against the shipped app before it is published, and re-checked when the app changes. Major pages carry a verified or updated date so you can see how current they are, and the same date is published in the page's structured data as dateModified. Where something is limited — a monthly quota, a plan gate, an export that is CSV rather than PDF — we say so in the body text rather than burying it.
What this content is not
SplitDay's guides are app guidance and general information. They are not legal advice. Custody law — and the way parenting time is counted, described and evidenced — varies enormously between countries, between states and sometimes between courts in the same city, and nothing here is written with your case in front of us. SplitDay's Terms of Service also disclaim any guarantee that records kept in the app will be accepted as evidence anywhere. For anything that touches your rights or your parenting order, speak to a family-law professional where you live.
